Diverse Technology Works (DTW) was founded as an LLC in January of 2010 by founders and partners Tom Stewart and  Paul F. Lando.  Dr. Stewart’s clinical experience as a physical therapist, combined with Mr. Lando’s background in engineering and design gives DTW the ability to develop unique products for specific needs.

Dr. Tom Stewart, has 35 years of experience in the field of Physical Therapy as both a practitioner  and Clinical Director of Allegheny Chesapeake Physical Therapy (a practice with multiple locations) has developed a keen sense of  PT interventions that work best for his patients and utilizes his ability for making improvements. He has degrees in PT from the University of Pennsylvania and Chatham University. Within this framework Dr. Stewart envisioned a company which could build on the “now” and develop “tomorrow” today.  His vision includes not only improving devices intended for the clinic but also remodeling the very devices found in real world applications which made the employee, the athlete and the senior citizen a patient in the first place.  Dr. Stewart’s background in sports medicine, along with devising PT regimens for teen, college and pro players injured in both training and play, led to the evolution of DTW’s first product, The Power Drive Machine (PDM).

Paul F. Lando, with an engineering education spanning Texas A&M and George Washington Universities. Paul brings over 25 years of experience in applying engineering principles in support of prototype product development, tooling, fixture design and production.  In laymen’s terms, Paul thrives on taking an idea from something as incidental as a hallway chat or bar napkin to sketch to 3D computer vision to blueprints to prototype and ultimately production. He has Masters Certificates in CADCAM and EDS Unigraphics. It is this innate ability to view, vision and build the idea from seed to reality which integrates Paul so well within the DTW team.  With a background of accomplishments within but not limited to the Defense Industry (General Dynamics, Grumman, AAI), Medical Industry (Star Dental) and even Leisure Industries (Harley Davidson), DTW offers Paul another outlet for his litany of interests beyond those required as owner and principal developmental engineer of PCA Design Inc., a product development company. His background of accomplishments include projects for the Defense Industry (General Dynamics, Grumman, AAI), Medical Industry (Star Dental) and even Leisure Industries (Harley Davidson). He is the owner and principal Development Engineer of PCA Design, Inc., a product
development company.
